HouseStandStrong.com: No Lame Duck Tax Hikes

Messages Sent So Far

President Obama was narrowly reelected, but the American people did not vote for tax hikes.  In fact, one of Obama's major campaign themes was the claim that Romney wanted to raise taxes.  The 2012 election was a status quo election; Obama was returned to the White House, but Republicans retained the House because the American people want them to continue to exercise a check and balance.

The strong House opposition to tax hikes was vindicated, not rejected, by the election.

Moreover, given the extraordinarily weak economic recovery the country faces, it would be an enormous mistake to raise any taxes and risk tipping the economy back into recession.

Please sign below to tell your Member of Congress: "We urge you to stand strong against any tax hikes in the lame duck session."

Cut spending. Do not raise taxes. Obama does not have a mandate. Republicans still control the "Peoples" House. That means there are checks and balances in place against a president and Democrat controlled Congress who spend like a teenager with his/her parent's credit card!

Over the past 4 years American's have made the choice to save more, spend less, and reduce their overall debts. It is time for both State and Federal Government to do the same.

If each individual American has to live within their means why doesn't our government have to do the same? Do as I say, not as I do???? I don't think so! It's about time for them to take responsibility, grow up, and respect the hard working Americans of this country. Quit controlling every aspect of our lives, quit taking our hard earned money, quit breaking down our military and our veterans, quit the lies, quit the scandals, quit spending like Real Housewives of whatever city they are from! Enough is enough already!

No tax increases and cuts to current and future spending MUST BE MADE!!! It is further more unacceptable to simply decrease spending increases - something that congress has been fooling us with for years!

Taxing only certain Americans is no different than stealing and it is discriminatory. It is the same as slavery--demanding the fruits of my labor with threat of imprisonment. DC needs to put their own spending cuts out first--all of the perks of the job, the presidents Hawaiian vacation, cut their salaries in half, etc. The citizens of America did not cause this horrible fiscal problem--the people in elected office did this. It is their duty to fix it and to be the ones who demonstrate sacrifice first. I also urge putting all negotiation meetings on CSPAN.

The Tax and Spend politics of the Washington insider crowd is just another example for voters to look at when considering recall petitions for those that do not care what happens to the rest of America as they have set themselves up as Gods, lawless except unto themselves.
