HouseStandStrong.com: No Lame Duck Tax Hikes

Messages Sent So Far

President Obama was narrowly reelected, but the American people did not vote for tax hikes.  In fact, one of Obama's major campaign themes was the claim that Romney wanted to raise taxes.  The 2012 election was a status quo election; Obama was returned to the White House, but Republicans retained the House because the American people want them to continue to exercise a check and balance.

The strong House opposition to tax hikes was vindicated, not rejected, by the election.

Moreover, given the extraordinarily weak economic recovery the country faces, it would be an enormous mistake to raise any taxes and risk tipping the economy back into recession.

Please sign below to tell your Member of Congress: "We urge you to stand strong against any tax hikes in the lame duck session."

Cut spending! When the Gov't collects more money - it's just spent, not on paying down debt but on buying votes. The cycle has to stop. Raising taxes would most likely DECREASE revenue - as the economy and job growth crumble under the added burden.

"You can't fix stupid". Florida re-elected Bill Nelson. Arizona re-elected Harry! What dumb-Axx even voted for Nancy. The pledge should be no more spent until until a balanced budget plus 25% additional for deficit.

I am tired of these politicians making serving the people their career. If they had to live on what we had to live on, use the same healthcare, and pay social security, they would change their minds about how to spend OUR money. They should let all Busch tax cuts expire, be done with it, I want the republicans to have some backbone for once!

We need to elect honest and strong people to office at all levels of government. It time that those in office remember who put them there and why. And time those that put them there start holding them accountable for their actions.

Congress should return the federal governemnt to its Constitutionally mandated roles. The savings would pay the debt in 4 or 5 years. But, that will never happen with the closet communists who running the federal government and desire a bloated, inefficeint central government.

I am retired miltary and now working in private sector. After all taxes are done, fuel, income, state, etc. 50% of what I make is given to the blaoted government. Unacceptable! What happened to all the bail out money? How much richer are politicians after that debacle? Solyndra?

We do not need to raise taxes and spend more money. We need to cut expenses. The more they get the more they spend there is no end in sight. They need to make do with less not more.

Throw them all out and buy gold. A big reset is coming and may be hastened if big cuts are not made now. If Europe comes around we will not be able to sell our deficit spending in the form of tbills and that means print money and that means inflation and that is a hidden tax.
