Sen. Manchin, it's time to lead!

Voting right isn't enough, West Virginia needs leadership on coal!

President Obama told us his plan back in 2008: "If somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them."

Now he's doing it, and the War on Coal is devastating West Virginia.

A huge part of Obama’s War on Coal is the so-called Utility Maximum Achievable Control Technology (Utility MACT) rule.  The rule requires expensive retrofits at coal-fired power plants, raising electricity prices nearly 20 percent with no environmental benefit.

The Sierra Club declared the end of an era. The era of coal.

The Senate will soon vote on stopping this outrageous rule. Governor Tomblin has urged Senators Manchin and Rockefeller to do the right thing in a stinging letter. Governor Tomblin said: "S.J. Res. 37 is pending before the United States Senate... It is my earnest hope that you will support the passage of this resolution with your own vote and by encouraging your colleagues to do so as well."

Governor Tomblin is right. This is a test of leadership.  It's time for Senator Manchin to step up and deliver enough Democratic votes to protect West Virginia from the EPA.

Take action now to tell Senator Manchin to step up and lead the fight against Obama's War on Coal!
